20 Astral Keys to Gates of Universal Consciousness

Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist who developed the field of analytical psychology and introduced the concept of archetypes of consciousness being "innate universal psychic dispositions that form the substrate from which the basic themes of human life emerge. Being universal and innate, their influence can be detected in the form of myths, symbols, rituals and instincts of human beings. Archetypes are components of the collective unconscious and serve to organize, direct and inform human thought and behaviour. ...archetypes heavily influence the human life cycle, propelling a neurologically hard-wired sequence which he called the stages of life. Each stage is mediated through a new set of archetypal imperatives which seek fulfillment in action."[1]

Centuries before Jung, the Maya introduced the very similar concept of Archetypes of Divine Consciousness. (According to the Maya, there are 20 of them.) Likewise, these Archetypes form the substrate from which individual Divine Consciousness emerges. Also being components of the collective unconscious, the Maya-identified Archetypes organize, direct and engender Divine thought and behavior in the human experience, in stages, over the course of days, months, years, ...millennia. Hard wired into the binary code of DNA and the human brain, these Archetypes are mediated through the permutations of an universal, binary, object oriented Code evident in and galactically broadcast by harmonic star cycles. The Maya perceived the astral Nature of the Code and embodied It in a "lunar calendar." Regarded as their Sacred Calendar, they call it the "Tzolkin." The Tzolkin enables them to track the cycles, the individual stages of the cycles [i.e. days] and the progressive effects of those intermeshed stages in order to further enable them to live in conscious alignment and synchronicity with the 20 Archetypes. According to the Maya, living in such alignment and synchronicity activates the inherent Divine Consciousness latent within the individual consciousness. Thus activated, the Divine Unconscious within can be consciously harnessed and channeled for communlal and personal well being.

Being both harmonic and binary in Nature, the Tzolkin's Code has been digitized and expressed in sound. As the stuff of our bodies comes from starlight, the acoustic expressions (of the Code's objects relative to the individual Archetypes) directly facilitate an exclusively positive rewiring of the brain, aligning and synchronizing its synapses with the dynamics of the respective Archetypes, and having a sympathetic effect advancing the activation of analogous higher functions of DNA. (Rather than needing to track the individual harmonic stages of the Archetypes as they naturally occur staggered over the course of months and larger spans of Time, as Maya clerics have done for centuries, the Archetypes' entire harmonic sequences can be heard in seconds.) Each of the Archetypes has been individually recorded (in great for meditation lengths) and embodied in "The Mayan Book of Wisdom" (a cognitive/consciousness enhancement software product from DarkMother.com).

On this Summer Solstice weekend, in the interest of fostering the planetary increase of Light, you can download an abridged version of The Mayan Book of Wisdom containing 3:00.00 excerpts of the full length (13:00.00) expressions of the 20 Archetypes. They're for you - Download them, experience them, use them; enjoy them.

The Mayan Sacred Calendar and Solar Wind

The Mayan Sacred Calendar (the Tzolkin) is said to be a graphic representation of a Logic transmitted by star harmonics that unlock doors of Universal Consciousness and interdimensional reality. If so, it ought to sound something like solar wind, right? Having translated the Tzolkin into sound, we offer you a comparison between that and actual NASA recorded solar wind.

When the Tzolkin's harmonic Logic is sequenced in the sonic register and played back at high speed, it sounds very much like solar wind recorded by the Voyager spacecraft, also played back at high speed. The primary dif being the Tzolkin is composed of only 13 harmonics and the solar wind has them all.

Check it out:

That reincarnation does exist; that entities , Atlantean in origin are being born to key families all around the World; that each of those entities has a Key purpose on this Earth and a Key role in this phase of the World moving smoothly into the next. Now, imagine that this phase is the one where human beings reach spiritual perfection; that this is the phase where the real magic happens.
On February 20th, 2008 I viewed the lunar eclipse. Just before full eclipse I saw a flash of light to the South of the Moon. It was plasmatic in nature and I almost felt as if it entered me through my eye. Since that moment I have been innately drawn to truths of our World.
Read all you can about Rudolf Steiner, I beg you. Garner as much knowledge as you can while communication lines are still up. Peace on Earth is your mission if you are drawn to this. Let's head the Call!!!

How much of your body can you live without?

Okay this isn't a post about YOU personally but a human in general. First off, if anyone has ever seen Todd Browning's movie FREAKS there is the black "worm-man" born without arms and legs and rolled cigarettes with his lips, so obviously those are unnecessary for life function.

*You can live without kidneys with dialysis.
*You can live on like 10 percent lung function with oxygen. Like coal miners with black lung or textile workers with brown lung.
*I've heard of lots of people having their spleen removed after accidents and shootings.
*Yah yah. Appendix. I know. That's a given. In fact, with an ass-bypass operation you don't need your ass either.
*Tonsils.
*Teeth.
*Larynx.
*Ears and nose. Burn and cancer-survivors yadda yadda.
*Scalp. I've read of people surviving scalpings by indians where they hid their literal skull under their hat. Also bear maulings on trappers in the old west. Jedadiah Smith for instance.
*Genitals from war or accidents.
*Eyes of course.
*Stomach. You've heard of those super-giant fat people who have most or all of their stomach removed to save their lives.
*When Reagan was shot they took-out like eight feet of his intestines. You have like 20 feet or something in there.

I've seen videos of monkey heads kept alive on heart-lung machines that blinked and responded to stimuli. So since they are close to us in the close-cousin department, my guess is that if there were no such thing as "medico-legal ethics" you might have warehouses full of heads waiting for new donor bodies.

So what's your take? Is nothing but a brain feasable? Forget the ethics. Let's talk science.

If Google had a black screen, taking into account the huge number of times this search engine is used, 750 mega watts/hour of energy per year would be saved. In recognition of this fact, Google has created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but with lower energy consumption.

Bookmark it today and pass it along: www.blackle.com

My questions are these: How does this save Watts??? What does "saving Watts" save? I would love to know.
New images from NASA's orbiting HiRise camera have revealed some of the secrets behind Mars's bizarre "spiders" (top) and "dark fans" (bottom).

The spiders are delicate tunnels under the polar ice generated by melting carbon dioxide gas, while the fans are alternating deposits of carbon dioxide "snow" (white) and dust (black) thrown out by the erupting gas, experts say.

'UFO watchtower' draws visitors

By JESSICA SIDMAN
The (Colorado Springs) Gazette

HOOPER, Colo. -- The strange light first appeared from the west.

It halted, and a group of onlookers flashed a high-powered flashlight twice.

The object flashed back twice.

It then moved to another part of the sky. The group flashed twice. Two flashes back. The object shifted again, mirrored their flashes once more, then disappeared into the starry black night.

Close encounter with the third kind?

The phenomenon was the first of 40 sightings that have occurred over the past seven years at Judy Messoline's UFO Watchtower in the San Luis Valley.

Messoline moved from Golden to the valley in 1995 to raise cattle. But the land was dry and soon there was nothing to feed the animals. She was forced to sell the herd, but refused to sell the land. There was something about it. It had an aura.

Since she and her companion, Stan Becker, arrived, neighbors had told stories about strange things they'd seen in the skies. They all joked about building a UFO watchtower, but Messoline and Becker never intended to do it.

When times got desperate, however, they began to see the joke as an opportunity.

"We had never seen anything prior to opening and never expected to," Messoline says.

They took out loans to build the $10,000 tower, and tourists and UFO fanatics have been steadily trickling in since, hoping to catch a glimpse of something out of this world.

More than 15,000 people have stopped by since the beginning of last summer. A guest book shows visitors from Tokyo, Zurich, Sydney and, um, Pluto.

At 10 feet tall, the tower is really less of a tower and more of an elevated balcony. But it does give visitors enough height to take in the miles of shrub-spotted desert stretching in every direction, to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and nearby Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.

There's a dome-shaped gift shop meant to look like a spaceship. Inside, you can buy alien-themed boxers, ET necklaces, UFO watchtower shot glasses and the like.

Donations, camping fees, and gift shop purchases bring in between $14,000 and $20,000 a year. Messoline works as a substitute teacher to supplement the income.

Visiting psychics say there are two portals to a parallel universe, guarded by invisible beings in a garden in front of the tower.

"We tell people because of all the energy -- and you can definitely feel it out in the garden -- to leave something in the garden and get their energy there as well," Messoline says.

Now it's an intergalactic junk yard. Yes, there is alien paraphernalia, but also swim goggles, a pair of white strappy heels, and a ukulele.

At the tower's 21 campsites visitors can spend all evening staking out UFOs and roasting marshmallows. Messoline also rents a small cabin.

Mancos artists Marty and Denise Stecher and their two young boys have come to the campground the past three summers. The stop usually includes visits to the nearby alligator farm and hot springs.

They aren't necessarily waiting for aliens, but say the barren campground is beautiful -- and cheap. On a recent visit, the family lit saucer-shaped fireworks that spun up in the air in a buzzing whirl. It was the closest they'd come to seeing a UFO on this trip.

Denise Stecher says she has seen "strange things" before but she wouldn't necessarily say that little green men are behind them.

"I believe in people who believe," she says. "I like to see people who are passionate about different things, including aliens."

The Stechers were the only campers on a recent night, but Messoline says the place does fill up, particularly at her annual UFOlympics conference that draws more than a hundred for a weekend of speakers and sky gazing. This year's conference was held late last month.

"We have a sighting every year," she says.

For the most part, visitors are curious tourists passing by on Colorado Highway 17, but occasionally someone claims personal experience with extraterrestrials.

One of the first visitors was a truck driver who said he'd been abducted.

He told Messoline he'd been driving north on Highway 285 toward Sawatch when he saw a big light in the sky. The light was suddenly in front of his truck and he swerved. The next thing he remembers is driving on the other side of Sawatch heading toward Monte Vista. When he was filling out his log book later, he realized he was missing three hours.

The trucker was the first of more than 100 self-proclaimed abductees who have come to Messoline seeking a kind ear.

"They know that they can come here and we'll listen. They can talk about anything they want to talk about no matter how bizarre it is. Nobody makes fun of them. Nobody says, 'What did you have to drink tonight?"' They feel comfortable here."

Messoline has started to record their experiences.

"I've seen them at night. Strange lights moving strange ways," reads a notebook entry from April 15.

There are photos, too: Eerie lights. Saucers. Orbs. But with computer programs like Photoshop, it's hard to say what's real.

That's not to say strange things don't happen in the San Luis Valley.

Messoline recalls one night when she pulled up in her pickup and felt a strange presence. The next day, cameras quit working, cars wouldn't start and watches stopped.

Messoline is reluctant to flat-out say that what she's seen has come from another planet. Becker says the government could be responsible.

"I'd like one to land so I can take a good look. I would really like that. And I've got all the room here for them to do that," she says. "There's something really bizarre going on up in that sky, and I can't explain it."

Just When Even I Thought It Could Not Get Any Stranger - Salem Again

Just as my morning coffee was beginning to take effect I stumbled on this in my morning paper.

http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2007/08/23/witches_charged_after_raccoon_entrails_left_on_doorsteps/

My favorite parts are;

"Graham also was charged with intimidating the witness, allegedly telling him she would "make him pay" if he didn't keep quiet."

"Watson told police Graham hoped to frame a local Wiccan who had fired the woman from his psychic telephone business last spring."

"Watson also said Graham had a disagreement with the owners of the businesses over proposed regulations that would limit the number of psychics who come to the city during the Halloween season."

Funny that no one was psychic enough to divine the perps in this.

The cops solved it the old fashioned way - a stool pidgin.

More Psychic Woo Woo In Salem

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2007/07/22/mixed_forecast_for_fortunetelling_rules/

Again in addressing to licensing of "psychics" the authorities have missed the point by a mile.

>The June 14 ordinance was designed to provide equal opportunity for psychic readers operating in the Witch City, rather than try to identify those who might have the ability to forecast the future.

"It's complicated and tough to quantify," said City Councilor Joan Lovely. "Some psychics claim it's an innate ability with no real schooling requirement. Who's to decide?"<

Innate or learned if people have such abilities and expect to be paid for them (sometimes large sums of money) then these abilities should be clearly demonstrable.

If one wants to be a Lawyer, Doctor, even a plumber the law requires that one demonstrate a level of knowledge and ability. Under the Salem ordinance it seems all that is needed is that you submit a resume and meet a residency requirement.

But then requiring that they actually be able to do what they claim would radically cut back the number of practicing "psychics" in Salem.

At least they kept the criminal background check - one of the stumbling points earlier on for the "psychics" already practicing in the city. Then again I suppose it would be hard to explain why the guy selling hot dogs to tourists needs to pass a background check while the one giving psychic advice does not.

So once again it is the gullible who will pay for this kind of thinking. I guess its OK as long as Salem gets its cut in taxes and licensing fees.

Greening the Burn? Nah.. I don't think so.

stepping onto my soapbox <shuffling feet>:

IT IS NOT WHAT YOU BUY, but what you do NOT buy. It isn't offsetting carbon... it is NOT expending it. Buying a hybrid doesn't make you green. Not buying another car when your first one works makes you green.

The nature of advertising and marketing is to make us feel us feel deficient of a product. And however green, it is still a product. The idea of consuming our way to a better world is asinine.

I think it is so important not to blindly ignore the duality and hypocrisy, but become aware of it.

I don't mean to be dower, or a downer... but this is the way I am taking in the world. It is a lot more complex than feeling like buying an organic stamped apple is saving the world, or that I can jet all over the world and $10 in carbon credits will absolve me of my guilt.

FIRST:: THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT ARTICLE YOU WILL READ. Organic, fair trade, and local produce is WORSE for the environment (possibly.. but very difficult to refute):

http://www.decal.org/file/396

It is a very typical, and VERY American (not Canadian necessarily, guys) concept that we can "consume our way better"..... That we can actually consume electricity, and make it all better by buying wind credits, or buying certain types of veggies; all organic is doing is making something as prosaic as shopping for food denote your cultural, social, and educational class. Most people are simply trying to eat and feed their families.... let alone worry about these issues. Or afford the priviliged lifestyle that lets one "be green".

"the green debate is for white people"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/5074214.stm

as if zombie like consumption and shopping for good or consuming natural resources could ever be considered forward thinking, green, or saving the world.

Consume to save! good luck.

Lorin Bassnectar had an article about wanting (and being) more than a club DJ.. being more about raising awareness and conciousness... you know?

ANYHOO... he mentioned our culture of consumption. AND....

The culture of drugs* coupled with consumerism is very interesting to me... hence why I love zombies (mindless consumption, massive consumerism in the form of impending, inevitable onslaught.. you cannot get away, they will eventually consume you.. society consuming itself)...

... and why I am having so many problems with the playa. And why this year is REALLY REALLY irking me. REALLLLLLY.

Does anyone find it sort of.... well.. frankly... disgusting about the concept of "greening the burn"???

I mean.... I dig raised consciousness, but with the "clients" at the burn, you are probably preaching to the choir about being green...

the simple fact is that Burning Man is possibly the MOST CONSUMPTIVE AND GLUTTONOUS EVENT ON THE PLANET.

And the idea of greening that is ludicrous. It bothers me a lot.

Like carbon credits. Carbon credits DO NOT WORK. It is well documented at this point....
two reports here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/6378471.stm
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/sunday/commentary/la-op-dorsey1apr01,0,7611817.story

for some humour.. think of paying for a credit if you cheat on someone..
http://www.cheatneutral.com/

biofuels hurt the rainforests - not to mention 300,000 acre organic cattle farms that they are CLEAR CUTTING THE RAINFOREST to make way for.....

"the green delusion"
http://tribes.tribe.net/organicdebate/thread/17614a74-090b-4470-9284-1acd82cc76ad

CASTRO SLAMMING BIOFUEL... it impoversihes third world economies.
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6505881.stm

This is in light of some of the most complex, interconnected, and important political, environmental, and social aspects of our day.

You heard about the tortilla protests? (I talk about them all the time!)
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6319093.stm

organic food, local food, and fairtrade may be BAD for the planet...
http://tribes.tribe.net/organicdebate/thread/dcb5f316-2382-48d4-a9f4-68a4b15cb799
salon article on organics not being sustainable - http://tribes.tribe.net/organicdebate/thread/ba63d73a-6e41-4ff5-8413-2f19fd8b3d8f

easy facts on why organic, local, and fairtrade is worse than better for the environment
http://tribes.tribe.net/organicdebate/thread/85907a51-0b39-4e23-b996-b5f5c919b8b8

and food miles emit more carbon offload

I URGE ALL OF YOU TO JOIN THE TRIBE, and offer debate, data, information... ANYTHING to RAISE CONSCIOUSNESS!!!!!
http://tribes.tribe.net/organicdebate

It is time to truly care about fixing the world... and not buying into the bullshit marketing that has destroyed the positive environmental impact of our attempt to fix the world.

Instead of blindly letting ourselves be happy about consuming our way to a better world... let's talk, understand, and work towards understanding the complexity...

*AND* that is why the green is cool. Corporate sponsored technology, using the event as a sounding board world wide...

It is about raised consciousness... and this is what our wonderful friend angela is demonstrating. And carrying that awareness into every step and breath... is where it's at.

Let's end with one of the most important people ever, saying one of the most important things ever

It is about being skeptical.. and taking that raised consciousness... and discussing some more. In our effort to heal the world, this green movement may be making it more unstable. SO... let's get more data. Let's be skeptical... and let's sit on the fence together.

"In any organization there ought to be the possibility of discussion... fence sitting is an art, and it's difficult, and it's important to do, rather than to go headlong in one direction or the other. It's just better to have action, isn't it, than to sit on the fence? Not if you're not sure which way to go, it isn't."
-Richard P. Feynman

Well... now I am all down. I am going to plant a tree. Anyhoo.. if you grow your own veggies, ride your bike... etc... you are gold. Cheers to you.

This is a new site…
http://www.wayofthemaster.com/

I saw a “informercial” on Saturday morning at approximately 8:45 am or so… right in place of Saturday morning cartoons.

It is slick, it is underhanded, and it is brainwashing children with production value and fear mongering tactics: “what will happen when you die?”.. and other things like creationism versus evolution.

Bad Science used by the church is subjugating children’s ability to critical analyze info.

“almost everyone thinks I am a good person, but what you should be asking is, ‘I am good enough to go to heaven?’”… and more nonsense. They also do little slick clips editing interviews with atheists, and what not….

I think we should turn our attention to this…. They have indoctrination tactics that put the military and cigarette companies to shame.

Pardon the blanket email, but as often as I sit back as an observer, I am finding more and more often that that is simply not acceptable.

It scares me to think my neice or nephew could be influenced by such trash!

Derren Brown starts his run on SfiFi tonight.

Derren is one of the most talented practitioners of mental magic today. He is able to show how easily fooled people can be. Fortunately he has enough scruples to not become a grifter like Sylvia brown, Jonathan Edward and the rest of that lot.

Watch and be amazed.

Conference brings out dedicated UFO hunters

Conference brings out dedicated UFO hunters

By Vimal Patel
Denver Post Staff Writer
Article Last Updated: 07/22/2007 12:25:09 AM MDT

Chuck Zukowski said he is used to skeptics deriding his belief in UFOs as silly escapism, but that's OK.

"There's more physical evidence that UFOs exist than there's physical evidence that Jesus Christ existed," the Colorado Springs resident and reserve sheriff's deputy said.

Zukowski was one of about 70 people, ranging from college students to retired professionals, who flocked to the Tivoli Student Center at the Auraria Campus on Saturday to talk about evidence of unidentified flying objects and convince skeptics.

No bug-eyed costumes with dangling Slinkys were in sight at the annual Colorado UFO Briefing. It was serious business.

"The evidence is simply overwhelming," said James Carrion, international director of the Mutual UFO Network, a national group that studies sightings.

Carrion used to flip through his mom's National Enquirer magazines when he was 11, sparking his interest in the topic. At that time, the tabloid actually used to hire real investigators to dig for information, he said.

The 38-year-old network is the world's largest UFO investigative group, with 2,500 members and 800 field investigators, Carrion said. Devouring thick books and attending seminars is a requirement to become a certified investigator.

Jefferson County resident Rick Nelson said he once saw three barrel-shaped objects fluttering in the sky over Arvada. One of the shimmering gold and copper things was about one-quarter mile away before it shot to the sky and out of sight, he said.

"Anyone who spends time researching it can't dismiss it," he said.

Colorado has a disproportionately high number of UFO sightings - about 5 to 12 a month out of a national 150, according to the Bellvue-based group.

It's unclear why, said Alejandro Rojas, the group's education director.

"We have a lot of cutting-edge (air) defense going on here," he said, explaining part of the sightings spike.

An annual UFO conference is set for Aug. 10-12 at the Denver Tech Center Marriott, where the negatives of McMinnville, Ore., UFO photos - pictures declared authentic by a group of University of Colorado scientists - will be shown to the public for the first time, Carrion said.

Pentagon Plots Digital "Crystal Ball" to See the Future...
Pentagon Plots Digital "Crystal Ball" to "See the Future" in Battle

By Noah Shachtman July 19, 2007 | 12:00:00 PMCategories: Bizarro, DarpaWatch, Strategery
Darpa, the Pentagon's way-out research arm, is looking to design a software suite that predicts the future for battlefield commanders. At the heart of the package: A digital "Crystal Ball" that forecasts how a mission is going to turn out, before it's done.
No, I am not kidding.

The overall, three-year program is called "Deep Green." Its goal is to "allow the commander to think ahead, identify when a plan is going awry, and help develop alternatives 'ahead of real time.'" If it works out the way agency officials hope (a very big if), Deep Green will enable officers to out-hustle and out-think any potential foes -- and do all that planning and analysis with a quarter of the staff that it takes today.

Deep Green has a half-dozen different interlocking components, including a "Sketch to Plan" program that reads a commander's doodles, listens to his words, and then "accurately induces" a plan, "fill[ing] in missing details." That allows an officer "to specify an option at a coarse level, then move on to the next cognitive task." A related program, "Sketch to Decide" allows a commander to "see the future" by producing a "comic strip" to represent his possible options in a given situation. That may "sound exotic," the Agency notes. But "since the 1970s (and perhaps earlier), there have been novels and game books in which the reader is asked to make a decision and then is directed to a different page or paragraph, depending on the choice made."

To make these warzone versions of choose-your-own-adventure novels, Darpa proposes two pieces of software. "Blitzkrieg" will quickly model sets of alternatives, while "Crystal Ball" will take information currently coming into a headquarters to figure out which scenarios are the most likely to happen, and which plans are likely to work best. Crystal Ball will use this estimate to nominate to the commander futures at which he/she should focus some planning effort to build additional options/branches. Crystal Ball will identify the trajectory of the operation in time to allow the commander to generate options before they are needed.

Darpa believes these kind of clairvoyant tools are needed, because some well-worn martial concepts have been proven obsolete by the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Specifically, the "venerable Observe Orient Decide Act (OODA) loop is no longer viable for an information-age military." To fight a fast-moving foe, these four tasks have to now happen all at once. That's the goal of Deep Green.

The Observe (execution monitoring) and Orient (options generation and analysis) phases run continuously and are constantly building options based on the current operation and making predictions as to the direction the operation is taking. When something occurs that requires the commander’s attention or a decision, options are immediately available. Ideally, the OO part of OODA is done many times prior to the time when the commander must decide. When the planning and execution monitoring components of Deep Green mature, the planning staff will be working with semi-automated tools to generate and analyze courses of action ahead of the operation while the command concentrates on the Decide phase. By focusing on creating options ahead of the real operation rather than repairing the plan, Deep Green will allow commanders to be proactive instead of reactive in dealing with the enemy.

An "Industry Day," to discuss how such a fortune-teller might work, is set for next week. Final proposals, DANGER ROOM predicts, won't be due for a year.

The Tzolkin: Music for positive planetary consciousness.

Positive planetary climate change requires positive planetary consciousness change. http://www.DarkMother.com

Twenty years ago, I was sitting in my little studio in Los Angeles, CA, sequencing and recording the first acoustic translations of the Mayan Sacred Calendar, the Tzolkin, and shifting into what was being called the "Harmonic Convergence." Throughout the convergence, the acoustic translations of the Tzolkin's 20 Sacred Signs were being broadcast through my house and yard via the only radio transmission system accessible to me at the time, an el cheapo walkie talkie. Lolol... Hey, gotta do what ya gotta do and, having "coincidentally" translated the Tzolkin into sound only months before, my intention was to insure that the planet's ethereal body received both the galactic radio transmission and a local radio transmission of the [concentrated] Tzolkin's currents, simultaneously. It was the least I could do for the planet and, although I had the least of the consumer broadcasting possibilities, I got the job done. (A little leaven leavens the whole loaf.) Since that auspicious transit, the world's consciousness has followed a predicted course toward collective enlightenment, on and relative to all levels of society. Now, here we are, 20 years later, poised on the precipice of (and rapidly accelerating into) the most profound shift in planetary consciousness the world has ever experienced. Fortunately, the ancient Maya priests who foresaw this time also perceived and left us the Tzolkin as a tool to help us transit this period successfully.

Here is the fundamental value of the Tzolkin; it is a Key unlocking the Archetypal Properties embodied in cycles of the 4th dimension, Time, that enable us to ascend into higher levels of Life and being human (in the Highest sense of the word). Time is about periodicity, frequency. Basically, Consciousness, the All in all, uses Time to effect change in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st dimensions. The Tzolkin is a map of how Consciousness does so relative to the expression of specific Aspects of Itself. The Tzolkin is a table of the Logic embodying specific, cyclic Patterns of Time facilitating the expression of those Aspects through all states of manifestation via electromagnetic radiation. When those Patterns are expressed in their purest Form, i.e. electromagnetic frequency, e.g. sound or light, that expression effects a psychoactive, ethereal bridge to the 4th dimension and the Consciousness that generates, progresses and sustains all that is.

At this time, the world understands the principals of using complimentary sounds to effect brain synchronization and cognitive enhancement. Now, we understand the validity of using tone to effect remarkable physiological and psychological shifts. Furthermore, we not only accept, we embrace the mathematical plausibility of a multidimensional universe beyond the accepted 4 dimensions; length, width, height/depth and time. Today, we understand the unity of these dimensions and of all things in such a way that we can comprehend how certain harmonic patterns transmitted in the 3D expression of Life may effect links to their concurrent Life expressions in the 4D, 5D and higher realms. We understand that sound can be used to effect vibrational states whereby higher levels of perception and informations are obtained. And now, as a result of the Tzolkin acoustic translations, we are capable of taking an ordinary CD and tangibly applying dynamics of the 4th dimension to radically and positively progress individual and communal consciousness, health and vitality.

Jesus (the Christ, not Martinez) said "They that have ears to hear, let them hear." He knew not everyone was prepared to hear the enlightening Truth that Consciousness was pouring through him, nevertheless, he spoke so those who could hear It would have the opportunity to do so. I'm sure there are many people reading this who are dismissing the above as New Age delusion, at best, and that does not negate the validity of what I'm sharing, nor of my experience and the experiences of many others who have used the Tzolkin acoustic translations. At one point, we lacked the instruments to confirm we live in an heliocentric planetary system, that information can be transmitted across open air without wires, that our cells are individual microcomputers. We may not have the instruments required to validate string theory or the practical linking of our 3D experience to the vital currents of the 4th and higher dimensions using sound and/or light, however we will. Those who do or may understand and are seeking the value of the easily applied tools for personal enhancement such as the Tzolkin translations (who share this online community) deserve to hear now, and they can.

The Live Earth concerts!! Wow, speaking of hearing, the sound quality was incredible. I was online through most of the event, jumping from country to country, continent to continent. I heard a lot of great music and I heard a consistent message. The message is that we are ready to drop our individual b.s. and start making the necessary shifts in consciousness and personal responsibility necessary for planetary survival and well being. It was a motivating experience. Being motivated to directly further the positive planetary consciousness shift, I have decided to offer my company's mp3CD versions of the 4 most fundamental and dynamic Tzolkin acoustic translations at 1/2 price for 260 days, beginning July 11, (2007). The Tzolkin is a 260-day Calendar; if we're gonna do a Tzolkin music sale for the sake of raising planetary consciousness, we might as well do it for a full Calendrical cycle. (Otherwise, it's just a sale, and that's not what this is about.) The translations are among the most powerful and effective cognitive and personal enhancement tools available -- more comprehensively and enduringly effective than Hemi-Sync, Holo-Sync and other similar products -- at a very low and reasonable price for such products. Nonetheless, it's a pivotal time, and I would have DMG/DarkMother.com assist in the process of planetary ascension by making the core of our product line "Ascension" available to millions more people by simply making it more affordable.

Positive planetary climate change begins with positive planetary consciousness change. "They that have ears to hear, let them hear." Come, hear and experience Ascension @ http://www.DarkMother.com

Once Again Sylvia Blows It

Back in 2003 author Janet McDonald wrote this article expressing her displeasure with a reading she got from Sylvia Browne.

http://dir.salon.com/story/mwt/feature/2003/01/08/psychic/index.html

Most interesting is this quote.

>I wrapped it up with a question about my longevity.

"Oh, God, yes, a really long life," said the All Seeing One. "And thank God you won't be stupid or incapacitated. I don't mind living to be old as long as I'm not an idiot."

No danger there, Sylvia. I'm the idiot.<

Unfortunately Sylvia was wrong on that one too. Ms McDonald passed away this past April from cancer.

http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/article/CA6434296.html

More on this can be found here.

http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/janetmcdonald.shtml

Another question from Stop Sylvia Browne is - Does Sylvia Browne Smoke?

The only reason this matters of course is that she has denied ever smoking on a number of occasions. As you will see numerous people including one reporter who was interviewing her before she added the e to Brown have witnessed her smoking.

http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/doesbrownesmoke.shtml

This only goes to her over all credibility - or lack there of.

Infighting in Salem - Psychics Failed to See it Comeing

Dateline Salem MA:

There seems to be trouble in paradise - well Salem.

Generally psychics can never see any wrong in a fellow psychic - until there income is threatened then the gloves come off.

http://www.salemnews.com/punews/local_story_144120150/resources_printstory

>SALEM - Lawyers have the bar exam. Accountants have the CPA exam.

Should Salem's fortunetellers have to pass a test of their own to prove they're psychic?

City councilors, hoping to crack down on fraudulent fortunetellers, are trying to define exactly how a psychic can become licensed to set up shop in the Witch City. They want candidates to undergo a criminal background check and to either live or run a business in Salem for at least a year.

But many psychics want the city to go a step further - make sure they're actually qualified to predict the future.

"It's become a free-for-all," said Laurie Cabot, the official witch of Salem. "Anyone who says they're psychic can come into the city. We don't even know where they come from. We don't know their qualifications."

For more than three hours this week, city councilors listened to two dozen witches and psychics - many clad in black and wearing pentacles - as they explained the tools of their trade.

"There has to be criteria or you're going to get garbage coming here," Barbara Szafranski, the owner of Angelica of the Angels, predicted. "Everybody here is a legitimate person who's worked for years and years. ... When you do a reading, you hold a person's life right in your hands. We have people come to us who are willing to commit suicide, who won't go to a psychiatrist, so they come to us."

"What are the criteria?" asked a baffled Councilor-at-large Joan Lovely. "Is there schooling?"<

So the "genuine" psychics asked the city to stop all those phonies from coming to town for Halloween and taking there income away.

Of course none of them was psychic enough to see that some of those "phonies" might have been a little peeved at this.

http://www.townonline.com/northshoresunday/homepage/x504545030

>Beverly -

The disturbing discovery of raccoon remains gracing the doorsteps of two Salem businesses on Memorial Day Weekend are mere bits and pieces of the real grim stuff going on among those who call themselves witches and psychics in the city of Salem.

With only so many fortunes to tell and only so many palms to read, traditional psychics, occult shop owners and Halloween event organizers are squabbling over a new ordinance that could tighten the rules on who may be eligible for a permit to practice the trade.<

Most notable to me is that none of the proposed standards would in the end actually prove any psychic ability at all.

Of course having lived in Salem I think I could have predicted that.

------------------------
In an experiment, a team from MIT were able to power a 60W light bulb from two meters away. Calling their demonstration 'WiTricity,' the researchers believe that a system is possible that could send electricity to your battery powered devices within a room sized space.
------------------------

While I'm interested in this device, I wonder how new or revolutionary it is. When I was in high school (20 years ago... yikes), my science teacher provided this very demonstration. After turning on (what I now believe was) a van de graaf generator, he walked around the room with various small electrical devices powered wirelessly by the generator. The highlight was when he walked around with two fluorescent bulbs shining brightly.

He said that this means of power transmission was quickly abandoned because the electric companies couldn't figure out how to charge people (probably an oversimplification, but funny nonetheless).

being a high school class in the mid eighties, I can't imagine that this experiment was very cutting edge (as the MIT study implies) or very high budget. It was, however, quite effective as a teaching tool, as it's one of the few things I recall from highschool.

Sylvia Browne on Exploring Psychic Powers Live!

This is about an appearance Sylvia made back in 1989 - before she added the "E" to her last name.

http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/exploringpsychicpowerslive.shtml

Sylvia likes to claim that this abysmal example of a cold reading was a set up because the audience to quote her - "And they were all German, and they couldn't understand one word I said. And that was a setup, as you well know."

If you watch the You Tube video you can clearly see that only one respondent was German and he seemed to speak and understand English.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVsNsUBpPrw

Her true believers like to use this as an example of how poorly Sylvia gets treated by the media. It makes one wonder if any of them have actually seen this or if they prefer to take Sylvia's word on the subject.

Of course the other question - Sylvia is your memory that poor or are you incapable of telling the truth about anything?

Sylvia And Montel - A question of Honer

Sylvia uses her usual cowardly hyperbole to hight back while a fellow military man asks Montel the hard question.

Sylvia is of course acting like any con artist will. And for that I give her credit for being true to form.

As for Montel to date he has not answered any questions about Sylvia.

If any here are familiar with career military officers one of the most difficult things that one can do is to question another officers honer. In times past officers were known to fight duels even during battles when there honer was questioned.

I hope Montel choses respect the code he has many times claimed to live by and respond.

Sylvia's way of answering critics:

Low Gravity, Eh?

Canada's Low-Gravity Puzzle Solved, Scientists Say

Rick Lovett
for National Geographic News
May 11, 2007

A new satellite survey may have solved the mystery behind one of the world's strangest weight-loss methods: moving to a large area of northern Canada with unusually low gravity.

Though the weakness is slight—one part in 25,000, or a tenth of an ounce for a 150-pound (68-kilogram) person—scientists have argued for years about the cause.

It's like being aboard a raft in a rapids, said lead study author Mark Tamisiea, a geophysicist at the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory in Liverpool, England.

"If the water was flowing downward in a sinkhole, [the raft] would be pulled down as well," he said.

But the new study supports an alternate theory: that 20,000 years ago, Ice Age glaciers pressed down on the area's crust like a person sitting on an extremely viscous waterbed.

The weight of all of that ice forced the mantle rocks to ooze slowly sideways. Then the ice melted—rapidly enough the crust hasn't yet fully bounced back. (Related: "Antarctic Ice Collapse Began End of Ice Age?" [March 17, 2003].)

Tamisiea and colleagues determined that the rebound indeed accounts for about half of the gravity loss. The research appears in today's issue of the journal Science.

Satellite Orbits

The study, conducted at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and the University of Toronto, relied on a sensitive pair of NASA satellites named GRACE.

These satellites follow the same orbit but remain about 130 miles (210 kilometers) apart. Microwaves are used to measure the distance between them with extreme precision.

As Earth's gravity varies, so does the distance between the satellites.
"[It's as though] you have two automobile-size things, one in Los Angeles and one in San Diego, and you're measuring the distance between them to the size of a red blood cell," Michael Watkins of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena said last fall at a scientific meeting. Watkins was not involved in the new study.

This allows scientists not only to map the Earth's gravity field from space, but also to look for small changes from one year to another.

If a downwelling mantle plume was the culprit, then there wouldn't be any detectable changes, Tamisiea said, because mantle convection occurs on fairly long time scales.

There was a signal, however—the area's gravity is increasing at a rate comparable to that which would occur if you poured two inches (five centimeters) of water across the region each year.

"It's a fairly large signal," Tamisiea said.

It probably means that the region is rebounding around half an inch (about a centimeter) per year.

Global Warming Implications

The new GRACE study is also important for people studying global climate change, Watkins told National Geographic News.

GRACE was designed mostly to study changes in water, such as melting glaciers in Greenland and Antarctica. (Related: "Greenland Ice Sheet Is Melting Faster, Study Says" [August 10, 2006].)

"Water has weight and therefore it has gravitational attraction and GRACE can observe it," Watkins said.

The new measurements, however, helps show post-glacial rebound is also occurring in many places.

"In the case of Greenland it's not big," he said, "but in Antarctica, when GRACE sees a signal of so many centimeters of ice has changed, part of that is rebound."

Thus, Watkins said, "it also allows us to remove an error source for our climate measures."

"I find it slightly offensive that somebody who literally goes on two
safaris a year, drives a Rolls-Royce, has at least three houses, and
offsets his carbon emissions for $85 can brag about it," he said.
"It's doing some good, but it doesn't in any way compensate for his
impact on global warming."

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2007/04/15/MNGI5P93BT1.DTL

again... not to be dour, but carbon offsets are bullshit.

they don't help, they are not regulated and there is a lot of piracy
and unethical business practice going on, and it gives us a false
sense of security.

they are starting to be viewed as causing more damage than good.

It sort of pisses me off. If we consume more, become different
consumers, pay for consumption different.... is it really offsetting?
Or is it simply making us feel warm and fuzzy?

If you offset it, did it happen in the first place?

for example, can you offset infidelity?
http://www.cheatneutral.com/

fact is... if we think we can consume our way to a better world, we
are totally and completely doomed. I am sure we like the idea of
something as simple as shopping solving our personal ethics crisis...
but it is all bullshit.

Fairy Mummy a Hoax - True Believers Still Believe its Real

Dan Baines who designs illusions for magicians built a model of a mummified fairy as an April Fools Day prank.

After posting photos to a web sight he received 20,000 hits a day from true believers including some warnings he was in danger for violating the fairies grave.

After exposing the hoax he continued to receive emails from believers who felt that the hoax story was itself a hoax.

Uri is at it again. In an attempt to be the ultiamate control freak he has been using what amount to empty threats to get sight like YouTube to remove videos he feels are less than flattering to him.- even those he produced himself but where his slight of hand is so poor that the trickery is obvious.

You can read about it here;
Randi in the interest of full disclosure is including some of these videos on his web sight:

Sylvia Brownes Best Evidence? You Decide

Back in January after the Hornbeck reading was shown to be a complete debacle Anderson Cooper asked Sylvia Browne to provide what she thought was the best evidence of her claims.

Here is an analysis of what she provided.

http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/ac360_brownesbestevidence.shtml

Unfortunately for Sylvia she ran into someone in Cooper who actually does what a reporter is supposed to do. He checked the facts.

So is this the best Sylvia can do? How much does she charge for a reading again?

It is time to truly care about fixing the world... and not buying into the bullshit marketing that has destroyed the positive environmental impact of our attempt to fix the world.

Instead of blindly letting ourselves be happy about consuming our way to a better world... let's talk, understand, and work towards understanding the complexity...

When and if in the 2000's, people explore other planets, some well designed suits will be needed. The man on the moon footage shows some serious equipment on the astronauts. I would like suits designed that are more sleek. The face-mask would be equipped with a video camera that transmits to the internet in real-time. Oxygen within the suit would be regenerating. For gravity adjustments, tuning gravity resistance up or down would make the explorer more versatile. At the training camp, simulations of the planets within this solar system could be practiced for walking and such.

Sylvia Browne Fan Sight?

Seems like Sylvia finally has a fan sight to support her. That is if a fan sight is something run by a person who is living with her son and has benefited financially from Sylvia.

What is scary is that some of the sheep are OK with the nepotism involved in this her latest scam.

You can view the sight here.

http://www.gosylviabrowne.com/

Here is the web masters spin on her connection to Sylvia.

http://gosylviabrowne.com/blog/2007/03/23/mucho-gusto/

And some skeptical sights.

http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/gosylviabrowne.shtml

Now that Sylvia is spinning like a top over her constant and spectacular failures its a wonder she is able to keep fleecing the sheep. OK perhaps not.

Favourite skeptical books of all time?!??

Yeah right.

I got a couple I can think of....

Probably my favourite is Sagan's Demon Haunted World

and Feynman's "Surely you must be joking Mr Feynmann"

And einstein's dreams... EO Wilson....

but what book embodies the depth of your awe and wonder and love for science, while at the same time being engaging, not too dogmatic, compassionate... etc. Something that transcends normal preaching to the choir, and helps grab others... unlike The God Delusion (that is for the choir, to be sure)

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but they just discovereed the source of what caused the Priestesses at Delphi to enter their trance-states. Turns out that their are pockets of ETHELENE that leak into the temple from underground fissures. Ethelene is the component of glue that gets you buzzed-up if you sniff it. Imagine if they pumped ethelene into all the psychic hotline phonerooms now....
Anyone familiar with Wilhelm Reich the dicoverer of Orgone? I have read that he was persecuted in both Germany AND the United States, his work was laughed at and supressed etc. I saw an interesting photo of Alan Beane? (One of our astronauts) on the moon surrounded by orgone...gas, radiation whatever. Now I guess the consensus is that it DOES exsist as asserted and now has a place on the periodic table of elements. Anyone else hear about him or his "cloud-buster" machine etc.?

Call For Makers!

We are pleased to announce Bay Area Maker Faire 2007!

Organized by the staff of MAKE and CRAFT magazines, Maker Faire is a newfangled fair that brings together science, art, craft an engineering in a fun, energized, and exciting public forum. The aim is to inspire people of all ages to roll up their sleeves and become makers. This family-friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds of makers--anyone who is embracing DIY and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience. Last year, we had 20,000 people at Maker Faire.

Maker Faire Bay Area will take place May 19-20, 2007 at the San Mateo Fairgrounds. We are also adding Maker Faire Austin for October 20-21, 2007 at the Travis County Fairgrounds. This call is primarily for Maker Faire Bay Area but you can indicate if you are interested in participating in Maker Faire Austin.

We encourage you to join the fun and propose a maker exhibit, performance or workshop. You can submit a proposal through the web using the link described below or you can come show us your work at a Maker Faire "audition" on Saturday, February 24 at TechShop in Menlo Park, CA.

http://www.makerfaire.com

Proposals: We invite proposals for Maker workbench exhibits, workshops, presentations and performances for the Maker Faire. We are interested in proposals from individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools.

Maker Workbench: Our standard setup for Makers is a six-foot long workbench. You can use this workbench to display your work and/or demonstrate how you make something. Some makers don't need workbenches, typically because they have a large object or they set up outside. Please provide a short description of what you make and what you will bring to Maker Faire. Please link to photographs or videos of what you make. Let us know about any requirements you have, such as electricity, Internet, ventilation, etc.

Interactive Performance: We're seeking performances that will engage and entertain the attendees and enable them to interact in a fun way. The performances may be tied to a stage or roving through the fairgrounds as a kind of street theatre. Performances could be musical or theatrical, but they could also be a collaborative building process. For example, you might work with attendees to put something large together in an hour.

Presentation: These includes audio-visual presentations intended for showing a project (or process) that cannot be brought to the faire, or a special project that requires AV resources. These presentations are limited to 20 minutes. Please describe the topic of your presentation and what kind of media (audio/video) that you will have. As a general rule, PowerPoint presentations are not appropriate for this event unless they are unusually entertaining.

Demonstration Workshop: A demonstration workshop is a show-and-tell session on how to make something. We're looking for makers who can demonstrate (and teach) particular skills, techniques or processes. You should start off by explaining your materials and tools and then step-through a build process, sharing your knowledge and interacting with the audience. Sessions should be under 30 minutes in length and may be repeated on the program. Please describe the subject of your workshop and what kind of setup you need for it.

Application Form: Please go to the following URL and fill it out to apply for participation as a maker. http://makerfaire.com/bayarea/2007/proposal/

All proposals will be reviewed and we will notify makers of acceptance via email by March 19, 2007.

NOTE: Presenters whose talks are accepted will receive free registration to Maker Faire. We cannot pay for travel and accommodations. (We do make exceptions under some circumstances.) If you have any questions about participating in Maker Faire, please contact Natalie Villalobos by email: info@makerfaire.com. Please let Natalie know if you plan to come to the audition at TechShop.

Key Points:

* Maker Proposal Due: Midnight (PST): Feb. 27, 2007

* Maker Faire Bay Area Audition: Saturday Feb. 24, 2007

* Notification of Acceptance: March 19, 2006

* Confirmation of Participation: April 2, 2007
* Maker Faire Bay Area: May 19-20, 2007; Saturday 10-6 pm; Sunday 10-5pm.

* Application Form: http://makerfaire.com/bayarea/2007/proposal/
Alcohol diminishes ability to see Gorillas. Not a joke, this is really cool cognitive research!

Why do skeptics rock? Rationalists? Humanists? Cause we get to have fun with science. Namely, cognitive research, booze, and gorrilas.

Alcohol diminishes ability to see Gorillas.(NEWS)

COPYRIGHT 2006 Skeptics Society & Skeptic Magazine

A new study published in the July issue of the Journal of Applied Cognitive Psychology will have a familiar ring to skeptics familiar with the concept of "inattentional blindness" and the now-classic experiment of the inability of subjects to see a gorilla in a short video clip. The experimental protocol is like this: subjects are instructed to watch a one-minute video clip of two sets of students--three dressed in black shirts and three dressed in white shirts--passing two basketballs between them. The task is to count the number of passes made between the three white-shirted students. In the middle of this task a woman in a gorilla suit walks across the room, stops in the middle, waves her arms and pounds her chest, then exits the room. In the original research, conducted by Daniel J. Simons and Christopher F. Chabris, 50% of subjects do not see the gorilla, even when asked if they noticed anything unusual (see their paper, "Gorillas in Our Midst," at http://viscog.beckman.uiuc .edu/djs_lab/with links to ordering the DVD of this and other clips of related experiments).

SKEPTIC publisher Michael Shermer has shown this clip to tens of thousands of students in his public talks at colleges and universities around the country, and he can get the percentage who see the gorilla well below 50% by telling them that there is a gender difference in the ability to stay focused and accurately count the number of basketball passes. This condition heightens the concentration of subjects to focus on the basketball passes even more, thereby causing more subjects to miss the gorilla.

In an interesting twist on this experiment conducted by Seema Clifasefi of the University of Washington, some subjects were given an alcoholic drink before the task, although they did not know if the drink they imbibed contained alcohol or not. The study found that people who are at half the legal intoxication limit in the United States--which is set at .08 blood alcohol concentration--were heavily compromised in their ability to see the gorilla. In fact, they were twice as likely to miss seeing the gorilla, even though it was onscreen for nearly a third of the test in this shorter (25 second) video clip.

This finding has important implications for driving while under the influence of even a small amount of alcohol, Clifasefi explained: "If you've had one drink, you may be so focused on paying attention to your speed so as not to get pulled over, that you completely miss seeing the pedestrian who walks directly in front of your car."

The reason this research is so important is that much of what passes before our eyes may be invisible to a brain focused on something else. As Simons told Shermer for an article in Scientific American on this research: "The mistaken belief that important events will automatically draw attention is exactly why these findings are surprising; it is also what gives them some practical implications. By taking for granted that unexpected events will be seen, people often are not as vigilant as they could be in actively anticipating such events."

Driving is the classic example. "Many accident reports include claims like 'I looked right there and never saw them," Simons notes. "Motorcyclists and bicyclists are often the victims in such cases. One explanation is that car drivers expect other cars but not bikes, so even if they look right at the bike, they sometimes might not see it." Simons recounts a study by Richard Haines of pilots who were attempting to land a plane in a simulator with the critical flight information superimposed on the windshield. "Under these conditions, some pilots failed to notice that a plane on the ground was blocking their path." This is why it is good that the airlines have a zero-tolerance policy about flying and drinking.

Andrew Weil believes in Uri Geller... then he doesn't....thank to James Randi!

from here...

Me and Andrew Well

Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. is a major figure in the "alternative medicine" business. His pop-medicine, rosy-hued, attitude-is-everything brand of "wellness" has landed him on the cover of Time magazine, twice.

I first met Weft in the Spring of 1974, when he interviewed me for Psychology Today magazine. The result was an article that appeared in two parts, in the June and July issues. They were titled, "The Enchantment" and "The Letdown," respectively. The lust dealt with his complete conviction that the Israeli "psychic" Uri Geller was for real a decision that resulted from a visit he made to the spoonbender, and the second part told of his subsequent disillusionment after I'd had an opportunity--at his invitation--to do a few demonstrations for him and asked him to seriously rethink his previous accounts of the "miracles" that Geller had shown him.

However, Weil's ability to devalue facts led him to state, at the end of the Psychology Today article:

It might be possible to take more conscious control
over the process by which reality is shaped and
made to seem objective. "Wishful thinking," though
it has a negative connotation, is an appropriate
term to describe this process. We all engage in it,
often unconsciously, to bring things into reality
according to our needs, and to make them leave
reality according to our needs. That is why certain
questions like, "Is Uri Geller a fraud?" or "Do psychic
phenomena exist?" are unanswerable. The
answer is always yes and no, depending on who is
looking and from what point of view. Each of us
has the power to make such phenomena real or
unreal. The first step toward making them real is to
believe that evidence exists. As for Lift Geller, I
wish him good fortune and the wisdom to use his
abilities well. From knowing him, I have learned an
enormous amount about the way I see things and
the need for great care in evaluating evidence--especially
<br/
